So now it’s
Trump or Cruz or a ‘brokered convention’.
The belated
crusade to head off Il Duce Trump has only revealed that the “Grand Old Party” is
undergoing a serious change of management. Where
Romney and the old establishment failed miserably, Cruz is vying to take over the
rescue mission and to replace the GOP with the T Party in all but name.
With the hatred
and potential for violence that the GOP debates have promoted, one can imagine
how the Trump and/or Cruz legions will deal with a convention that tries to
“steal” the nomination despite primary outcomes.
The debates have given us a sampling of fascist rhetoric and behavior. Worse may be ahead.
